Welcome to BBC Global Network("we," "our," or "us"). BBC Global is a private, verified business networking ecosystem designed for entrepreneurs, business owners, and professionals to foster mentorship, commerce, referrals, and professional chapter meetings.
We respect your privacy and are committed to safeguarding your personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") of India, the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Google Play Developer Program Policies.

In order to provide our member networking services, we collect only the personal data that you voluntarily provide to us or that is required to operate the platform:
Account & Contact Information
- Full legal or professional name
- Email address
- Phone number (including international country dial code)
- City and State
- Cryptographically hashed password (via bcrypt for email accounts)
- Google OAuth profile details (name, email address, profile picture URL) when choosing to sign in or sign up via Google
- No financial or debit/credit card information is collected; online payment gateways have been decommissioned
Professional & Business Profile
- Business/Company name and designation
- Type of Industry
- Website and social links (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram)
- Services offered and networking interests
- Profile photograph (avatar)
Communications & Networking Data
- Chapter group chat & 1-on-1 direct messages
- Chat attachments & documents uploaded to meetings
- Business referrals given and received
- Meeting RSVP and attendance records
Technical & Device Information
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) push notification tokens
- Standard server logs, browser user-agent, and IP address
- No precise background GPS or location telemetry
3. How We Use Your Data (Purpose of Processing)
Under Section 4 of the DPDP Act 2023, your personal data is processed solely for lawful and specific purposes for which you have provided consent:
- Authentication & Verification: To verify member accounts, manage secure sign-ins, and assign verified BBC Global member codes.
- Directory & Networking: To display your professional card and contact information to fellow verified chapter members.
- Business Referrals & Meetings: To track referral status, record meeting attendance, and facilitate chapter commerce.
- In-App Communications: To deliver real-time group chat and 1-on-1 messaging notifications.
- Push Notifications: To deliver timely alerts regarding direct chat messages, chapter announcements, business referrals, event invitations, and membership updates directly to your Android device via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). You can manage or disable push notifications at any time in the app settings or via your Android device system settings.
- Security & Abuse Prevention: To prevent fraud, moderate objectionable user-generated content, and ensure compliance with our Code of Conduct.
4. Zero Sale or Third-Party Monetization Policy
BBC Global Network does NOT sell, rent, license, or monetize your personal data. Your information is never transferred to third-party advertising networks, data brokers, or marketing syndicates. Data is processed strictly within the BBC Global platform for membership functionality.
5. Data Security & Storage Safeguards
In compliance with Section 8(5) of the DPDP Act 2023, we implement robust technical and organizational security measures:
- Encryption in Transit: All web and mobile communications are encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3 / HTTPS).
- Password Security: Passwords are hashed using salted cryptographic algorithms (bcrypt) and are never stored in plaintext.
- Row-Level Security (RLS): Our database applies granular Postgres Row-Level Security policies ensuring members can only view authorized data.
6. Your Rights Under the DPDP Act 2023
As a Data Principal under Indian law, you have the following guaranteed statutory rights:
Right to Access (Section 11)
Right to obtain a summary of your personal data and processing activities.
Right to Correction (Section 12)
Right to rectify, update, or complete any inaccurate or obsolete personal details.
Right to Erasure (Section 12)
Right to request permanent deletion of your personal data and account.
Right to Grievance Redressal (Section 13)
Right to file a complaint with our Grievance Officer and the Data Protection Board of India.
7. Account & Data Deletion (Google Play & DPDP Policy)
We provide two simple, accessible methods for members to permanently delete their account and associated personal data:
- In-App Deletion: Navigate to Profile → Delete Account inside the mobile app or web platform and confirm the deletion prompt.
- Web Deletion Request: You can submit an account deletion request online anytime at app.bbcglobal.org/delete-account.
Upon verification, your profile, authentication records, avatar images, chat membership, and referral logs will be permanently deleted or pseudonymized from active production databases within 30 days.
8. Protection of Children's Data (Strict 18+ Age Restriction)
In accordance with Section 9 of the DPDP Act 2023 and Google Play Families Policy, BBC Global Network is exclusively intended for adult business owners, executives, and professionals aged 18 years or older. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal data from minors under the age of 18. If we discover an account created by a minor, it will be immediately terminated.
